The Blackstone Valley Community Chorus (BVCC) was formed in 2004 with sixty singers from five towns throughout the valley. The BVCC attracts singers of varied abilities and musical backgrounds, united through their love of music. Audiences at annual spring and fall concerts are treated to a wide variety of a cappella and accompanied music. BVCC singers are continually challenged and encouraged to grow, both as a musical group and as individual performers.

In addition to the main chorus, the BVCC includes several smaller singing groups.

Chamber Singers

The Blackstone Valley Chamber Singers are a smaller group of 16 voices selected from the general chorus membership. Their repertoire includes madrigals, chorals, ancient songs, and other interesting and challenging pieces suited to small groups. The Chamber Singers offer their repertoire of beautiful pieces, ready to sing at short notice and in a variety of venues. If you are interested in having the Chamber Singers perform at your event, please contact us via email.

Honorable Mention

Valley Belles

The men’s and a women’s quartets perform traditional and non-traditional barbershop melodies with the tight harmonies for which they are known. The quartets have been honored with invitations to sing at special occasions and services around the Valley.

Artistic Director

Diane Pollard, Conductor, minored in piano and voice at SUNY Plattsburg. She founded the BVCC in 2004, and has worked with the BVCC board of directors to create musical learning opportunities for singers who only need to be able to carry a tune. Over the past ten years, the group has explored many musical genres, including classical works, jazz, madrigals, show tunes, a cappella, gospel, pop and art songs in foreign languages.

Diane is also an active member of the Theater of Northeastern CT, acting as musical director and vocal coach at the Bradley Playhouse in Putnam. She continues to perform in musicals and straight plays. She currently works as a literacy specialist for the Newton Public Schools. She resides in Uxbridge with her husband Pat and her two college age children.
